Macade is now four months old. He had a doctors appointment this week, and the little turkey weighs 18.1 pounds and is 27 inches long. The doctor said he's in the 95th percentile for his age. He is rapidly outgrowing his clothes...and is now wearing size 6-9 month. He's such a happy baby, always smiling and cheerful. The other night he rolled from his back to his side...loves his tummy time and is starting to get his legs under him while on his belly...somethings telling me he might be on the move soon. He also loves to stand up...but we keep telling him, he must crawl before he walks. We've decided that he's teething...he is a drool machine, and tries to put anything and everything he can in his mouth...his fist being his favorite...it's so hard to believe that he's growing up so fast. Mark and I often ask each other...what did we do without him...we can't imagine life without him.

My cousins came to visit
Macade had some visitors the other day. His cousins Cole and Addison O'Bannon came up to Visalia to play. We had so much fun on our walk, we feed the horses, drove the gator and tested out the tractor...hope you enjoy the pictures.
Cole and Addison
Cole is SO in love with Macade. He always wants to hold him...."Cole hold Cade." Addison on the other hand isn't quite sure what to think of him...somedays she's interested and others she's not.
Cole and Addison
While we had our backs turned to snap a picture of Cole on the tractor, Addison decided to feed the dogs by hand and sample the food herself...

I'm Stuffed!
I'm kicking myself in the pants...I wish I would have taken more pictures during Thanksgiving. My mom bought Macade this cute shirt...and we were sure stuffed by the end of the weekend. Mark, Macade and I had two Thanksgivings. We celebrated with the Atkins family on Thursday and then traveled to Bakersfield on Friday for the O'Bannon get together. Since Macade is almost 4 months old, and will be eating infant ceral soon, we let him try some mashed potatoes...we didn't give him more than just a taste...but he seemed to like them.

Bath Time Fun
Italian Tortellini Stew
I made this stew/soup for dinner last night...it was so yummy and healthy. I subsituted a can of Ro-Tel for some of the crushed tomatoes...to add a little kick...
Italian Tortellini Stew
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 carrot, finely chopped
1 rib celery, finely chopped
1 onion, chopped
1 (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes, undrained
1 (15.5-ounce) can Kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 (32-ounce) container ready-to-serve chicken broth
2 tablespoons dried basil
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 medium zucchini, cut into 1/2-inch chunks
1 (small/about 8-ounces) package cheese-filled tortellini
In a soup pot, heat oil over medium heat. Add carrot, celery, and onion, and cook 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Stir in tomatoes, beans, chicken broth, basil, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer 30 minutes.
Add zucchini and tortellini then bring to a boil; reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered for 10 minutes, or until tortellini are tender.

Fun at Grandpa and Grandma Atkins House
Last week Macade had his first tractor ride. Grandpa Terry was pulling out an acre of almonds to make another pasture for some of the roping steers.
Macade already on the back of a horse.

Miracle Blanket
Almost three weeks ago, I purchased the Miracle Blanket...and let me tell you it works miracles. Macade has slept through the night ever since we got it. Here's a picture of the little guy all wrapped up and happy. Check out there website, http://www.miracleblanket.com/
